About This Course

Overview

With 36 holes of championship golf designed by legendary Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore, Talking Stick Golf Club offers golfers a choice between two distinctly different experiences on the same property. Located on Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community land, the O'odham Course (links-style) and Piipaash Course (traditional parkland) consistently rank among Arizona's best.

Course History

Talking Stick Golf Club opened in 1998 as part of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community's economic development initiative. Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore designed two courses that work with the desert landscape while honoring tribal heritage. The O'odham Course takes its name from the O'odham people (Pima), while Piipaash honors the Maricopa people. All 36 holes feature names in the O'odham language.

Signature Holes

O'odham Course Hole 12 features a strategic split-fairway design forcing players to choose their line off the tee. The links-style layout offers wide fairways with strategic bunkering and low-profile greens. Piipaash Course features tree-lined fairways bordered by eucalyptus and cottonwood with raised greens and water features requiring aerial approaches.

Pro Tips

Book exactly 3 days in advance during peak season - tee times open at midnight online. Study bunker positions from tees on O'odham - they define ideal angles. Club up for elevated greens on Piipaash - they play 5-10 yards longer. The Golf Card ($129) pays for itself in 2-3 rounds with discounted rates plus a complimentary round.
